Mafrash Rugs : They are woven carrying-cases, cradles and packing bags for storing linens of the Shahsavan nomads. They have two long and two short sides and they usually are made with the Sumakhtechnik technique.
Bedding Bag Rugs : They had been wooven on the loom in a technique called Sumak producing the various hexagonal and hook motifs of the side and end panels as well as the tapestry-woven bottom. Sometimes, wool loops were sewn into the top edged of the bag so it could be fastened by straps to camels. When the nomads who used the bags were encamped in their tents, the bedding that the bags contained could be removed and the bag hung on the walls of the tent.
Nomadic rugs: Rugs woven by nomads. Nomads move continuously and do not stay permanently in one geographic region. They manufacture (weave) handmade rugs on collapsible looms. Due to that fact there may be slight variations in weaving and their rugs are sometimes uneven in shape. Also the weaving is made from memory and it depends on each artisans momentary inspiration. As a result, the designs in some rugs are not even on the entire surface.
